Purpose of Essay Contest

April is National Child Abuse Awareness month and the timing of this release is perfect. So many children are hurting and this book with fun rhyme and colorful illustration teaches,  “There is true love for every child, everywhere.? It also teaches children they can help each other.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) reveals alarming statistics in their reporting system. For example, “In 2010, U.S.state and local child protective services (CPS) received an estimated 3.3 million reports of children (43.8 per 1,000) being abused or neglected.? It is heartbreaking to say the least.

We may not be able to stop the abuse ourselves. But we can help mend broken hearts and end cycles of abuse as a community. Children can play a major role in that effort.

Essay Contest Topics

With that in mind, The True Love for Me? Essay Contest is designed to encourage children to notice good family values, friendship and love expressed in the home or classroom.  Once they’ve written about it, they can share it with others.
