Autumn is here, the sky is clear

…and The Stars Twinkle Brightly!

Autumn is my favorite season! I love to go out to a remote area and just gaze at the stars, in awe of the universe and its beauty. I think of God…I think of how big He must be and I feel small and humble in His presence.

This is a wonderful link to a stargazing calendar. Why not check it out, then plan some great stargazing activities with the kids? Even better, use it as an opportunity to teach your children about God’s creation.

Psalm 147:4 - He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.

Jeremiah 31:35 - This is what the LORD says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— the LORD Almighty is his name:

Another wonderful activity for you and the kids is to share Mary Fam’s book, The Stars Twinkle Brightly  with a child who needs encouragement and hope during illness. Take the little book along on your stargazing trip and see if you can find the constellations!
