Machine of GodMachine of God, by D. A. Metrov, grabs its readers and holds them captive throughout a fantastical journey. Fasten your seat belts before you climb aboard this Machine. Prepare to be whisked away.

Leonardo Da Vinci designs the ultimate vehicle for traveling over land, water and sea. Together with the love of his life, friends and loyal shipmates, he races to prove the machine’s capabilities, while finding his own. Or the source of his own.

Leonardo and his band face obstacle after obstacle and enemy after enemy. It’s no surprise, in this battle of Good vs. Evil, to find Evil using Leonardo’s own weapons against him. The surprise is in the hidden, driving force behind endless attacks from man, beast and even spirit.

The end certainly takes an unexpected turn. It left me wanting to know more about this hero from the past, his futuristic designs and his source. Hats off to Metrov for inspiring curiosity on top of telling a great story.

Note: I reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy. The review is also posted on Amazon.  The book itself isn’t what we normally review for the Kids Book Group, but it is certainly a good read for young adults. The story inspires curiosity into the life and work of Leonardo Da Vinci and points to a source that can can take mankind beyond what mere humans can accomplish. Very interesting.
